girl, girls...
That is the weirdest wallpaper I have ever seen. No offense, well kinda..
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12428034/Screen%20shot%202010-12-01.png
One of a bunch that circulate through right now. This particular one is from Schneider Studios on DeviantArt. (http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&global=1&q=SchneiderStudios#/d2elxwf)
That's Adium with a custom theme, and MacLampsX (http://arcticmac.home.comcast.net/~arcticmac/software/maclampsx.html) doing the bulbs on the screen edges. I usually show my Dock, but didn't want to block any more of the bulbs than necessary.

I'm glad you like it! (:

pressuring Apple to reduce the number of devices (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/6c6aa286-7f08-11db-b193-0000779e2340.html) movie content from iTunes would be able to play on (namely, iPods).
I still don't understand what the issue is here. I can buy a DVD for almost the same amount and play it on as many devices as I want. The DVD has much better quality than the Apple downloads and has extra bonus features as well.
If I want to get a movie for viewing right away I can always "rent" it for about $4US from my digital cable provider and watch it in my home theatre. Many of them are now even in HD quality.
Oh, and part of the reason movies are now costing so much is for the exhorbitant salaries that certain actors get paid. If you want to cut costs on movie production, there's a good place to start. It's sad that we live in a society where actors, pop/rap stars, sports stars, etc. get paid mega bucks while professions like "school teacher" get paid peanuts.

I have a question for those of you who get your wallpapers from wallbase. No matter what broswer or OS I use, and even though I am logged in, I still cannot get ANY wallbase pics to load. I click the thumbnail to view it big and it opens in a new tab, but it doesn't show anything.
Am I missing something?

Not much really when you stop and think about. You can get 12TB of storage on Newegg (let's say 4000 3TB drives) for a couple hundred grand. Of course Apple is buying more than just drives.
obviously you have never shopped for Enterprise storage for a SAN
back when 2TB drives were $300 or so we bought some 500GB drives from EMC for $800 each plus or minus some $$$.

Contract Termination By Fraud
A contract can be terminated by what is referred to as "fraud in the inducement." Fraud in the inducement occurs where a party intentionally misleads the other party into entering the contract. For example, a party lies about the subject of the contract and the other party relies upon the statement and agrees to the contract. This misleading action can terminate the contract.
Do us all a favor and stay in school. You aren't going anywhere in the real world as a lawyer.
G'day.

I'll pick up the white if someone is willing to trade straigh across. My black, for their white. Just to switch it up since I've had this black since the first launch. I didn't want white in the first place but eh why not.

Wow, that is one nasty Danish mockup. I hope it won't look like that.

Here's actually a nice touchscreen iPhone mockup:

I've been in many debates with people about the iPhone and I've always been on the side that Apple just shouldn't do one. Everyone always says that it would sell like hot-cakes because it would be an Apple phone, but my stance has always been that it would have to run on a particular carrier.
But lately I've been thinking about this and what if Apple bucked the system a little. They made a phone which connected directly to your computer and you downloaded the correct carrier setting to. So if you used Verizon, all you had to do is in setup select Verizon or Sprint....
I feel that one of the big problems with mobile phones is the computer connectivity has always been an afterthought, mainly because they're not computer companies. But what if Apple created a new iApp which managed the phone (ran on both Windows and OS X), which made the connectivity easy. This is basically what happened with the iPod.
Would the carriers care that a generic iPhone ran on their network, maybe the stupid ones, but in the long they're lives would be easier, because they wouldn't have to market the phones, just their service (which is where they really make their money).
I also like the idea of using the click wheel to make a retro style digital-rotary phone. However, I doubt Apple would just display the numbers on the screen and not on the unit. So when in dial mode, you would spin the click wheel and the numbers, displayed on the display in a circle, would highlight the number that you were on and then click the center button on the click wheel to select. If you wanted to get really old school, you could have the rotary sounds come through the headphones. Or course you would still be able to dial by your address book or search through a downloaded version of the white or yellow pages (which would naturally sync into your phone whenever you charge it at home, via blue tooth or direct connection to your computer).

Yes, it's a loss leader item.

"It's obviously irritating to Apple that they're getting used this way," says PJC's Gene Munster. ...
Actually, it probably helps Apple in the big picture. Eighty people get a fantastic deal - and they know it's a special deal, so the real value of the iPad is reinforced. And a whole lot of people, who missed out on the deal, have reinforced the perception that the iPad is not a commodity, and that Apple's msrp is 'true' price. And further, those people who missed out have now 'decided' that they want an iPad, and a fair number will go and buy one at full price. Apple wins in this case. Sold 80 units to TJ's at full price, and TJ's pays to fuel iPad frenzy in their customers. Laughing to the bank.

It's time to look into ALL OS's, mobile and stationary, to see how much data is collected. Not just apple. Let's see how wide spread this really is. I don't use a iPhone, but do own a EVO. At least under android, your told what app has access to before downloading. Since I'm using an iPad, 1st gen, am presuming it's the same as the iPhone for getting apps, doesn't state what a program has access to. Would be a nice feature.
