The ipods do not have enough individuality/functionality to do this, without changing the entire underlying scheme. (Generally they fix this in Itunes).
What they do is prevent unwitting individuals to participate easily in large scale piracy, but allow local piracy.
This tends to INCREASE sales, not DECREASE sales. Local piracy creates obligation and requires work. Both of these create demand for legal product interestingly enough. (Large scale piracy does nothing for demand, but DRM does not affect large scale piracy).
At anyrate, the apple system is well done, the movie folks should just take thier money, and I suppose complain loudly, but just take the money

It would be great if Final Cut Pro got updated. At the moment, Adobe Premiere Pro is quite a lot better and has a more modern interface, which is kind of strange, as FCP is the industry standard.
WRONG! FCP is definitely not the industry standard. It gained a lot of traction in market share from Avid but has since regressed its gains over the last several years.

It's sad that we live in a society where actors, pop/rap stars, sports stars, etc. get paid mega bucks while professions like "school teacher" get paid peanuts.
Acting is hard. You only need to witness bad acting in one movie to understand this. For every A-list star, there are tens of thousands more out of work, because competition is tough and dependent on luck, too. But mostly, it comes down to supply and demand. I have no problems with actors getting 20 million a picture, they worked hard and there are only a handful of them, anyways.

Sorry, the icons are not part of any set,, PS, Mail, Journal = I Made as 1 off's, the Safari & trash icons are original after using silver pro nik filter, Toast 9 & Aperture are standard, Itunes and google chrome I cant remember where i found and the hard drives were from MacThemes, they are Mac Pro Carriers, appropriate as i'm using a MP, only Icon ive a link for is Finder before I put it through Photoshop.

I think 2TB drives are a great option for you. They can be had for as little as 75-80 each these days and 4 of them would give you 8TB in your file server. Not too shabby.
I myself plan to buy a couple 2TB drives soon as I am running out of space even with 3.5 TB.

I can see at events at least until 2006 (when I started using ical). Check the preferences and make sure you do not have a delete events after XX time frame (see advanced tab under ical preferences).

Pity Isilons suck. Great for IT, bad for the end-user. They support all sorts of protocols, none of them properly.
Better tweak your kernel's delayed ack attribute or you'll be serving data at dial-up modem speeds.
Are you joking? I use a 4 node IQ12000X cluster on a daily basis over both NFS and SMB and the performance is nothing short of amazing.
Still, you don't buy Isilon for raw performance. You purchase it for data protection. They let you specify protection levels for directories and even individual files. That means the critical stuff gets extra protected, and the non-critical stuff doesn't waste 3x its weight in disk space. Pretty slick stuff if you ask me.
Also, their OS is based on FreeBSD, and I suspect they get a bit of help from Apple since their OS development seems to take a few turns now and then at the same time Apple does. ;)
