Emma Watson may have left her wizard days behind her, but it seems there’ll still be plenty of magic in her future. The British starlet has signed on to star in an upcoming film adaptation of the classic fairytale, Beauty and the Beast.
For those of you who don’t know the fairytale (Seriously?), the story follows a young woman who falls in love with a hideous creature. Fortunately for her, he turns out to be a dashing young prince whose beastly appearance is a spell, curable only by true love. Phew! Belle, aka Beauty, will be played by the Harry Potter actress. No word yet as to who will be playing Beast, but we’ve got our bets on Cory Monteith, Ed Westwick, or Robert Pattinson.
She said she intends to return to Providence, Rhode Island, next year to complete her studies at Brown University. Emma, 21, left Brown earlier this year, to devote her time to the final Harry Potter film and other acting opportunities.
Harry Potter: The Deathly Hallows: Part II set a box office record for the best three-day opening in cinema history when it opened in theaters last weekend.
