Readers Choice! Catrice Iron Mermaiden!

Part two of this week's Readers Choice winners! Yesterday I mentioned that we ended up with a tie, so I would do a post on both Dirty Berry and Iron Mermaiden.

Iron Mermaiden (I love the name BTW) is a sheer duochrome. It reminds me of OPI Not Like the Movies and Wet N Wild Gray's Anatomy. I have seen some comparison posts on other blogs so I didn't feel the need to do one myself. I also hear Essence Where is the Party is also a close match.

Iron Mermaiden seemed to take a bit longer to dry and I ended up with some bubbling. I applied 3 coats this time, and topped it off with Qtica Extending Top Coat. Unfortunately, it was cloudy and rainy all day today so I couldn't get some sunshine shots.

Readers Choice! Catrice Dirty Berry!

WOW! Last week we ended up with a TIE! You got to chose from some of my Catrice polishes, and Iron Mermaiden and Dirty Berry BOTH won! They each received 14 votes, with 26% overall or 52% combined. So it looks like I will be doing TWO Readers Choice posts this week! Today is Dirty Berry, I will post Iron Mermaiden tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who voted!

Dirty Berry is a dusty medium purple holographic polish. The holo effect is slight, it was hard to capture with my camera. I really like this shade of purple on my skin tone. This has now become one of my favorite polishes!

Ahhh here you can see some of the holo-ey goodness!

Catrice cosmetics are a European brand, click HERE to visit their website. These are not sold online, they are only available in authorized retail stores. I am fortunate enough to have an awesome friend in The Netherlands and one in Austria who swap with me. If you want to get your hands on some Catrice, my suggestion to you would be to make friends in Europe! LOL ;-)

Readers Choice! Cult Nails Living Water!

Thank you to everyone who voted last week! This time you had a choice of my Cult Nails. Living Water won with 19 votes, 48% overall.

This is my first time using this polish. Living Water looks black from afar, but its really a deep dark blue. It has teeny silver and teal bits of glitter. I found this polish to be a "hungry glitter", although its not really what I would consider a glitter polish! So I decided to add a layer of Gelous before applying CND Air Dry top coat.

I <3 Gelous!

Cult Nails is currently having a SALE through Monday July, 4th 2011! All of their polishes are only  $7.40 (normally $10) in honor of 7/4/11. Click HERE to shop now!

Readers Choice! Savina Purple Hologram!

I am a little late on posting this and I apologize!

Thank you to everyone who participated in my weekly poll! Purple Hologram received 13 votes or 52% of the total votes submitted. Savina is a brand I am not too familiar with. While shopping in Philly, I stopped in at Nordstrom Rack hoping to find some Deborah Lippmanns cheap, and no such luck! I did purchase a few Savinas though. They had a pretty decent selection there, also a few random OPI Black Shatters.

Purple Hologram turned out to be a jelly! It has scattered silver holographic glitter. Application was a breeze and it covered well. I applied 2 coats and topped it off with Out the Door topcoat.

The back of the bottle...

I discovered that Savina polishes are available on www.8ty8beauty.com for $2.68 each. Certainly less than what I paid at Nordstrom Rack! Click HERE to see what colors they have. Purple Hologram was there at the time this post was created.

Readers Choice! Hard Candy Hypnotic!

Thank you to everyone who voted! Last week I gave you the choice of some Hard Candy polishes that I currently own. Hypnotic was the winner, with 53% of the votes.

I found Hypnotic at Walmart, it was the last bottle. It looked really pretty, a nice peachy pink with gold shimmer. When I put it on my nails though, I was disappointed. It is extremely sheer and turned out to be nude color. I am not a fan of wearing colors like these on their own. I would only use this for layering in the future. Bummer!

This is 3 coats, no top coat, artificial light, no flash.

Readers Choice! Barielle Falling Star!

Thank you again to everyone who participated in voting! Last week's choices were some of the Barielle polishes that I recently purchased. Falling Star was the winner, it had 62% of the votes. There are still a couple of days to vote in this week's poll if you haven't done so already...

Barielle Falling Star is a medium shade of blue with scattered copper colored glitter. I was skeptical about this polish to be honest. The glitter sticks to the side of the bottle, and I was wondering if it would be hidden on the nail, or be bumpy/gritty. Amazingly enough, it shows up really well on the nail, and is completely smooth to the touch! It was a little thick though, I had trouble applying it. But I am sure some thinner will solve that problem.

What do you think? I really like Falling Star.

You can purchase Falling Star at Barielle.com or by clicking HERE. It retails for $8 but check Barielle's website often for promos.
