Keira Knightley and her boyfriend of five years, Rupert Friend has split.
The British actress has been with Friend since they met on the set of the 2005 movie, Pride and Prejudice. Due to differences in their perspectives, the pair decided to end the relationship.
Keira’s father, Will Knightley has confirmed the split to the British newspaper, The Sun.
Knightley told the newspaper that, “Yes, they have broken up, but that’s the way things go, unfortunately. The only option is to get on with things. They were together for quite a long time and it is always hard breaking up. She’s focused on her work.”
However the split has not been confirmed by Friend or his agent. Sources claim that the split has left Keira heartbroken. The source said that Keira’s growing popularity is the reason why the pair is breaking up but they will stay good friends after that. Keira is enjoying the fame and the fortune that comes with her work but when it comes to the media spotlight on her, she feels uncomfortable about it.
Since the pair appeared in Price and Prejudice, Keira moved on to receive Oscar and BAFTA nominations while amassing an estimated £32 million in fortune.
