Lady Gaga Grammy Awards 2011 Performance

So Britney Spears won’t be opening this year’s 53rd Annual Grammy Awards with a medley of her hits, but disappointed pop fans may be cheered up by the news that Spears’ outre successor — Lady Gaga — is set to perform at next month’s ceremony.

The organizers behind music’s biggest night have yet to announce who will be gracing the stage on Feb. 13, but Gaga’s choreographer — reality star Laurie-Ann Gibson — let the news slip on Twitter this week, confirming that the star is ready to rock the joint.

“Grammy meeting performance extraordinaire..!!! On its way… ” the lady behind the dance moves in Gaga’s “Bad Romance” video Tweeted Jan. 11. When a fan asked if she meant Gaga would be performing Gibson wasted no time in confirming with a “yes.”

The freaky “Poker Face” singer is up for six gongs at this year’s Grammys, including the coveted Album of the Year prize.

Gaga is also making headlines this week with the news that her forthcoming single “Born This Way” will be the focus of an entire episode of Glee. According to creator Ryan Murphy, the episode will shine a light on McKinley High’s closeted gay bully Dave Karofsky.
