Glee star Lea Michele made a young actress burst into tears after refusing to sign an autograph.
Way to kill those diva rumors, girl!
Hailee Steinfeld,14, is wowing audiences with a formidable role in the nation’s No. 1 movie, True Grit. Sorry kid, that doesn’t make you important enough to get the time of day from Queen Lea!
Hailee was at an audition at the studio where Glee is filmed when she spotted the famous lady walking to her trailer. Despite the fact she was clad in 1800s garb and found it hard to walk, Hailee raced over to meet her idol.
“I saw Lea Michele just walking to her trailer and I was like, ‘That’s the girl from Glee! I’ve got to go ask for her autograph!’” she explained.
“So I walked up to her and asked for her autograph, but she walked by and a guy came and said, ‘Sorry, now’s not a good time!’ I had to walk all the way back to the car wearing what I was wearing. I was practically crying on the way home. I was so sad! But she’s beautiful and she has an amazing voice.”
Nice save there, kid!
Lea — who has been plagued by tabloid tales claiming that she’s a heifer for nearly a year — says she’s sorry to have disapppointed Hailee.
“I heard Hailee was upset and feel terrible. The Glee schedule is so jam-packed that the PA probably pulled me so that I wouldn’t be late to set. I never meant to hurt her feelings. She’s an extraordinary talent and I look forward to meeting her one day.”
Michele is still trying to convince the world she’s not a psycho diva on the Glee set. She bakes Glee cookies, for heaven’s sake! Does that sound like a diva to you?
“If we all didn’t love each other as much as we do then it would be really hard, but I get to work with my best friends,” she said. “I think that makes everything so enjoyable, no matter what we’re doing. I love having my cast members over, inviting them over to my house. I’ve been known to bake cookies for my crew and bring them to work.”
