Keeping Up With The Kardashians about to lose its most curvaceous castmate? Australian glossy NW Magazine has learned that socialite Kim Kardashian is considering leaving her family’s hit cable reality show at the end of the current season.
As undoubtedly the most famous – and with a net worth topping $33 million, most bankable – of the Kardashian Klan, the 30-year-old brunette has convinced herself that she doesn’t need her family’s help to remain in the spotlight. So she’s using her recent engagement to NBA hoopster Kris Humphries to exit the reality melodrama that serves as the flagship of E!’s Sunday night lineup. Kim’s August wedding to Kris is expected to be televised in a ratings-breaking E! special — just as sister Khloe’s nups to Lamar Odom were back in Fall 2009 — but it could be the last glimpse Reality Stans catch of Kim’s famous caboose on the small screen. Kim sees her pending marriage as a new beginning and is actively trying to re-brand herself — without the constant presence of cameras — a spywitness explains, adding that the buxom brunette wants to leave the reality hit to focus on her various other business projects.
As it turns out, the Skechers spokesmodel may have selected the ideal time to take her money and hit the bricks. The series sixth opener of Keeping Up With The Kardashians attracted half the viewers of last summer’s season five premiere, prompting a source to tell the mag that “the family are slowly losing their place at the top of the reality tree.” Last week’s episode brought in 2.5 million viewers. Not so bad, but a definite nosedive from the 4.7 million who sat glued to their screens for last season’s first show.
