Amitabh, Shah Rukh team up to fight illiteracy in India

The awareness about education in India is set to get a huge boost. And it is bound to happen when two of Bollywood’s biggest superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan will team up to promote the de rigueur noble cause. The two icons have been brought together on insistence of the Oscar winning sound director Resul Pookutty and buzz has it that along with Big B and SRK, Hollywood actress Judi Dench would also render her support for the noble mission of spreading education among the underprivileged in India.

As a matter of fact, it’s the effort of Resul’s foundation which is fighting for the eradication of illiteracy in India. His foundation promotes education among the low-income group and explains the fact that educating their children is the sole way to get a better way to life and future.

Speaking to a daily, Resul said, “It is unimaginable that even in the 21st century there is rampant illiteracy in India. We are making our presence felt in the world and this aspect is something that should definitely be tackled. Along with economy and cultural boom, India should not be spoken as a country that is also illiteracy stricken.”

Resul revealed that Amitabh has been acting as a parent to the project by helping him with funds and goodness. He said that he was planning for new ideas when Judi Dench helped him draw plans for the eradicating poverty in India. Judi was in India while shooting for her film in Rajasthan, she was moved by poverty in India and extended her hands to help Resul`s cause.

Talking about Judi, Resul said, “Judi has told me to draw plans and just tell her what is to be done and she will try her level best to do more than what has been asked of her.”

The sound magician said that Shahrukh Khan was very keen to extend his support for the cause when he came to know about the project during the shooting of the film ‘Ra.One’.

Spicezee salutes the hero who has already made India proud by winning an Oscar and extends our best wishes to Resul Pookutty’s noble venture.
