Imran Khan and Avantika married in a civil ceremony at Imran's maternal uncle and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's residence in Pali Hill on Monday, January 10, 2011.
The couple will jet off to Thailand for their honeymoon, accompanied by around 50 guests.
The wedding was a private affair, attended only by a close circle of friends. Avantika reportedly wore a light grey lehenga choli with a red border and gold work; and Imran a black high collar coat.
Following the registration of the marriage by a magistrate and a round of congratulations, Imran sat his new bride in a black Porsche, decorated with white flags and a "Just Married" sign, and the two rode it to Imran house.
Later, the couple hosted a private dinner for close family and friends at Taj Lands End Hotel.
Though the wedding was a muted and private affair, Imran's Bollywood fraternity got its chance to bless the couple during a pre -wedding sangeet ceremony earlier at the Malik's farmhouse at Karjat near Navi Mumbai. The bash was attended by Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao; and Boman Irani, Aamir's ex-wife Reena Dutta and children Junaid and Ira; author Chetan Bhagat with wife Anusha, Manish Malhotra, Simone Singh with Fahad Samar and Kamal Sadanah.
Imran Khan got engaged to girlfriend Avantika Malik at the Malik's farmhouse on January 16, 2010, after dating her for seven years.
