Sizzling British couple David and Victoria Beckham are expecting their fourth child together this summer, a spokesperson for the pair confirmed on Sunday.
The Beckhams — who have long prayed for a daughter to add to their brood — already have three sons: Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5.
“David and Victoria Beckham are delighted to confirm they are expecting their fourth child in the summer,” Beckham Family spokeswoman Jo Milloy said in an emailed statement. “Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are very excited about the arrival of their new brother or sister.”
David, 35, and Victoria, 36, have never made it a secret they would like more children.
“I really want more kids and I hope it happens soon. I want a little girl. That would be amazing,” David said last year.
“I would love to have a little girl. If I am blessed to have another baby at some point that would be great. I’m really girlie. I’d love to dress a little girl up,” Victoria once said.
Celebrated “footballer” David met Victoria at the height of her fame as Posh Spice of the hugely-successful ’90s girl group The Spice Girls. The good-looking pair made the perfect media match-up, were dubbed “Posh and Becks” and instantly catapulted into the limelight — and splashed across the covers of many-a UK tabloid. The Beckhams tied the knot in July 1999, a few months after their first son Brooklyn was born.
The baby news comes just a week after Victoria credited periods of long-distance with keeping her marriage with the soccer ace strong. Beckham told Marie Claire UK’s February issue that having a Trans-Atlantic marriage keeps the couple from getting bored with one another.
