Shane Warne has bowled over Liz Hurley again for 5-star weekend

Snapped smooching in a car in Santa Monica last weekend, the high-profile pair rekindled their love in flying visits to Tinseltown from Melbourne and London.

“I’ve been here on business – some of it monkey,” Hurley wrote on social networking site Twitter, on January 14, of her visit to LA. Later, she trilled: “A great weekend. Best in a long, long time .”

A prolific user of the site, Warne was mysteriously absent from Twitter on January 14, coming back online the following Tuesday when he arrived back in Australia.

Warne flew to LA on the morning of January 15 after commentating for Nine at the Twenty20 match between Australia and England.

In the US for just a few days, Warne and Hurley made the most of their time together, spotted out and about in a Range Rover.

“I was in LA last weekend,” Warne tweeted on Friday. “Had a great time and lots of fun . . . It’s a fun city but not like amazing Melbourne!”

The photos sparked an international bidding war. Britain’s News of the World has paid in excess of £$1.6 million and will publish the images later today.

New Idea and Woman’s Day fought for the Australian rights, with Woman’s Day winning after paying what is believed to be a large sum.

The Sunday Mail has obtained an early copy of the magazine, which will be on sale tomorrow, showing the loved-up pair kissing in the Range Rover on their weekend getaway.

After arriving in LA, Warne, 41, stopped to buy cigarettes before meeting Hurley, 45, at Santa Monica’s five-star Casa Del Mar hotel, overlooking the beach’s iconic pier.

Rooms at the hotel cost up to $700 a night.

“They were behaving like a couple of lovestruck teenagers,” one hotel guest said.

“Liz was tickling Shane’s chin, playing with her hair and frequently reapplying her lip gloss. Shane couldn’t keep his eyes off her.”

The Sunday Mail understands Hurley is planning an Australian trip to visit her lover. It has been a tempestuous affair after the couple first went public in December.

But the actress quickly dumped Warne after learning he had sent sexual text messages to a married Australian woman while she and Warne were involved in their affair
