Left at the altar! Well…not quite — but we hear Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and his reality TV star fiancee Kristin Cavallari have called off their upcoming wedding. The once-happy couple has put the kibosh on plans to tie the knot on July 7, 2012, and it was Cutler who cut the ties, loose-lipped informants tell PEOPLE.
“She got dumped,” a squeal says of the ex-Laguna Beach personality. “She’s absolutely devastated. She can’t believe this is happening. She was planning her dream wedding, the date was set, the location – everything was set,” the insider adds.
“She’s in shock that the dream wedding she was planning is going to end this way.”
Break out the violins…
Kristin, 24, and Jay, 28, dated for 10 months and became engaged after the football star proposed during the couple’s vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in April. SoCal native Kristin had even planned to move to The Windy City to be closer to Jay.
“I love Chicago,” Cavallari told Access Hollywood in February. “My mom is there — and that side of my family — so, I get to spend time with my mom who I don’t get to see that often. But it’s been great. I love the city and during the football season I was there a lot. Now, we’re both out here.”
